editing day 4

Today, I continued with my editing. I didn’t have a lot to do because I just had to finish editing my cutaways and downloading my soundtrack onto Final Cut Pro.

I had the pictures I got from my grandad in a photo album which fitted perfect with what he says like when he use to go out to town on nights out so I put them into the timeline on his interview so the viewers got an idea of what it was like when he use to go out when he was younger. As well as his pictures, I used shots I got myself from when I went into town and got some shots on Mathew Street and same for when he speaks about the football, I have shots of both the Everton and Liverpool football grounds with the logos on.

These cutaways are put together so they all flow together and I did this on purpose so that I am sticking to the continuity notion which is the basis of the classic narrative structure which helps tell the story to the audience and give them more of an idea. The Transcript – Grandad interview helped me with putting the cutaways into it and where about they will go at what times.

I continued to edit all the cutaways I got for the football part and put it into the timeline, I didn’t use any archive, I just used my own footage so that there are no chances of my work being taken down as I have had all the other footage and audio approved from the owners, this is mentioned in my Legal and ethical constraints. I used one image from the Creative Commons website which was the gates of Anfield Stadium that says ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ which I need to put onto my timeline tomorrow but I didn’t need permission for it because it was from a copyright free website.
