I have watched my interview with my grandad and wrote a transcript of what I want him to say in my documentary so it is easier for when it comes to editing and I have shortened it right down so that my documentary is as short as I can make it including the voiceover and the other interviews.
I left school at fifteen and I was an apprentice at Taylor’s cutter. There was lots of employment back then but very low wage when I was a young man growing up.
When I got to about fourteen, that was the time of the Merseybeats coming out so we use to go to the likes of the Locarno, the Cavern and iron door.
On a Saturdays afternoon, we use to go to watch Liverpool because we lived between the two grounds and the following Saturday we’d go to see Everton play and then we’d go out have a few pints, go home, get ready and go into town for the night out. Great times.
